
Maia Gonzalez is a classically trained soprano pursuing her love and passion for opera and outreach through performance.
The soprano recently collaborated with Teatro Grattacielo and Camerata Bardi to bring the Tribute to Napoli: Songs of Eternal Passion concert series to the stage. In this series, Maia was thrilled to have sung alongside the world renowned duo, Alfonso Brandi (guitar) and Francesco Mammola (mandolin), in addition to her brilliant colleagues.
Recently, Gonzalez premiered the role of Madame Colbran with the Long Island Concert Orchestra’s production of Rossini Perduto, by David Winkler. One month later, she covered the role of Maria in Teatro Grattacielo's premiere of Tin Angel, by Daniel Asia in June, 2025.
Gonzalez was delighted to have participated in Teatro Grattacielo's outreach concert series Opera at Gotham Park in May, 2025. The soprano chose to include De los álamos vengo, madre by Joaquin Rodrigo and Young Love in Spring, by Margaret Bonds in the hopes of introducing first time listeners to a couple of her favorite pieces and pieces that are by underrepresented composers.
On February 14th 2025, the soprano sang excerpts from Act I of Puccini’s La Bohème with Maestro Enrico Sartori and the New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra at Symphony Space. In the months prior, Gonzalez performed in Teatro Grattacielo's The 10 Faces of Maria Callas concert series, Salon Avec Moi's Swan Opera concert, and Classical Movement's Scenes from Don Giovanni.
In October 2023, Maia made her solo debut in Stern Auditorium/ Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall with the Celebration of 150 Years of Rachmaninoff concert series; organized by Maestro Constantine Orbelian in collaboration with Classical Movements/ Prague Summer Nights Music Festival. Through continued collaboration, Maia had the privilege of performing this concert series once more in January, 2024 with Classical Movements at the Rectory on Princess Street.
Her other role highlights include: Adina from Donizetti's L'elisir d'Amore conducted by Jason Tramm at the South Orange Performing Arts Center with Camerata Bardi (2024), Donna Elvira from Mozart’s Don Giovanni conducted by Maestro John Nardolillo, at the Estates Theatre with Prague Summer Nights (2023); the title role of Ibert’s opera Angélique conducted by Maestro Pierre Vallet in Neidorff Karpati Hall with Manhattan School of Music (2022); Giannetta in Donizetti’s L’elisir d'Amore conducted by Maestro Felipe Tristán, at the Teatro de la Ciudad de Monterrey with Monterrey Summer Opera Academy (2022), and Zweite Dame from Mozart's Die Zauberflöte conducted by Jackson McKinnon at The Riverside Theater with Manhattan School of Music.
She has previously had the honor of participating in masterclasses with Quinn Kelsey (November 2023), Jelena Nosková (July 2023), Dietlinde Maazel (July 2023), Dolora Zajick (August 2022) and the Isabel Leonard (January 2022).
Ms. Gonzalez holds both a Bachelor of Music Degree and Master of Music Degree from Manhattan School of Music.
